Introduction To The Development Programme
AT's development efforts are focused on 2 main areas:
We have two categories of novel vaccines: subcutaneous and sublingual, which are administered by injection and by the oral route respectively. The major thrust of development is to provide safe and efficacious subcutaneous short-term courses (enabled by the incorporation of MPL®) for the treatment of patients with allergies to pollens from grass, tree, ragweed and also Japanese cedar. The subcutaneous vaccines will all be part of the Pollinex® Quattro range.
The sublingual vaccines are also envisaged to gain in efficacy by the addition of MPL® and a sucessful 'Proof of Concept' study for augmentation of the sublingual grass pollen vaccine has been completed.
AT development scientists also continue to develop methods to improve manufacturing processes and standardisation of our products. This is particularly important in achieving product acceptance and registration by regulatory authorities.
